On Wednesday April 8, Bierock is hosting Beer Bingo featuring Wisconsin’s own New Glarus Brewing.
Bingo begins at 6:30 p.m. and lasts roughly two hours.
It’s free to play. Customers will receive a bingo card, good for several rounds. Prizes include various beer-related giveaways, brewery SWAG, free pours and other esoteric awards like B-movie DVDs and erotic novels.
A representative from New Glarus will be on hand to hand out samples, answer questions and socialize during the event.
Featured on Apr. 8 will be at least six beers on tap, including a seasonal and limited release. But we’ll make sure to have something hoppy, something light, something fruity and something malty. Plus we always have the O.G. Spotted Cow Farmhouse Ale in bottles.
Here’s the lineup and brewery descriptions for what we know what will be on tap…
Moon Man, Pale Ale—Moon Man is a seriously cool cat. Always comfortable in his own skin, he never tries too hard. So cool we named our “no coast” pale ale after him. You hold a session beer with a bright bold blend of five hops that flirt obligingly with the smooth malty backside. Don’t let this one lay around. It is brewed to be enjoyed today. Bold and engaging without pretense, because in Wisconsin you do not have to be extreme to be real, just be.
Tailwagger, Amber Ale–Easy going Tailwagger Amber plays well with others. No matter if you choose to bring some home or enjoy a brief escape at your local Happy Hour. This Amber is the perfect companion, both smooth and approachable. Brewed with malted barley from Wisconsin and our cousin state of Minnesota. When days are short and work is long, this friendly greeting will set your tail wagging too.
Two Women, Country Lager—Four thousand years before Christ, Sumerian women created the divine drink of beer. Viking women brewed in Norse society. European Ale Wives were so successful as cottage brewers they were taxed. Artisanal women lost their domination of the daily ritual of brewing during the Industrial Revolution. Today’s brewing trade is controlled by men. The collaboration of two Craft companies both led by women, New Glarus Brewing and Weyermann Malting, is unique. You hold the result “Two Women” a Classic Country Lager brewed with Weyermann’s floor malted Bohemian malt and Hallertau Mittelfrueh hops. A tempting and graceful classic lager found…Only in Wisconsin!
Scotch Ale, Wee Heavy—Just a Wee Heavy to fortify friendly celebrations on cooler evenings. A burly beast of a brew, 9.65% ABV, this Scotch Ale is designed for luxurious sipping over an evening’s fireside chat. Heirloom UK barley malt is responsible for rich toffee and malty biscuit notes that resonate throughout. Scottish folks share Wisconsin’s independent and resourceful nature, relying on an unusually cool ale fermentation to deliver plum and raisin notes. Enjoy our sweet black ruby indulgence tonight or relish it at a future event.
Belgian Red, Fruited Cherry Ale—You hold the marriage of wine and beer. This ale is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, balanced by hops we aged in our brewery one full year, and then aged in oak vats. Half a pound of of Door County Cherries in every every bottle makes this ale uniquely “Wisconsin”. So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this ale to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor & bouquet. Serve your friends Belgian Red in a brandy sniffer or champagne flute and toast life with ale from the land of Wisconsin.
Back Forty, Bock—The “Back Forty” is property commonly found on the outskirts of the Wisconsin family farm. Here uncultivated acres wait prime for adventure-forts, tree houses, rope swings and first kisses! A place to run away, to camp, to climb, to build, to play. Not actually home but not too far away. That’s the Back Forty. The beer you hold is similar both dark and adventurous still smooth and familiar. Here’s a beer you can enjoy without pretense or explanation. Every mind requires some acres of possibility, space for dreams, the great escape, everyone needs a Back Forty.
