Bierock 5th Anniversary Party!

On Saturday July 1, 2023, Bierock will hold its 5th anniversary party.

Highlights include live music, a tap takeover and a bierock on special as voted upon by our customers.

Bierock has two musical acts with Chloe Louise & the Heartbreak Club headlining at 8:30 p.m. and Medlén to open starting at 7:00 p.m.

In the same vein as Taylor Swift and pop country, we’re featuring Chloe Louise & the HeartBreak Club.

From the group’s biography…

Somewhere along the line this ragtag group of heartbreak kids learned pop sensibility like the rest of us learned common sense.  Of course, that’s only scratching the surface of the history they share and the music they make, both of which are far from common, as well as the wider net of influence that converged and collaborated to bring them to this moment together.

The HeartBreak Club is Chloe Louise (vocals, guitar), Lawrence Gann (drums, percussion), Grant Charles (guitars) and Will Linden (bass, percussion).

Meanwhile, we introduce the jammy and atmospheric sounds of Medlén.

Comprised of Nate Meng on drums and synthesizer and Hanna Edlén on guitar and clarinet, they combine for ethereal folk music.

Our tap takeover will feature beers from Surly Brewing Co. in Minneapolis.

Our full lineup of Surly beers is TBA, but you are sure to expect something light, something dark and something hoppy.

One thing guaranteed to be on tap, however, is a Surly Darkness variant. We’ve secured a keg of 2022’s Ginger Snap Darkness.

That’s a bourbon-barrel aged Russian imperial stout made with ginger, cacao, vanilla beans, cinnamon and orange zest checking in at 12.0% ABV!

And to show our appreciation, we’re giving away a dozen Surly branded pint glasses to the first 12 customers to purchase a pour of Surly on July 1.

We also have a challenge to our customers. In addition to the Surly tap takeover, we’ll also have one keg of Stone Enjoy by 7.4.2023. That’s a Tangerine & Pineapple Double IPA.

Brewed for maximum freshness, there are roughly 66 individual 10 oz. goblet pours in a sixth barrel. So that’s our challenge to you. 66 pours before the fourth of July.

On July 1, we’re also featuring a special bierock.

Over the course of the past year, Chef Cordel has been creating and debuting special bierocks on a weekly basis.

We picked four of the most popular to choose from and let our customers vote. The winner will be served on July 1.

The results of the vote won’t be shared just yet, but here are the candidates…

  • Italian Beef with peppers, onions & au jus
  • Cubano with pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles & honey mustard aioli
  • Jambalaya with chicken, sausage, rice, peppers, onion, celery & Louisiana hot sauce
  • Chicken Shawarma with tomatoes, onions, cucumbers & garlic yogurt dip

Whatever the winner, expect what you’ve come to know and love: a filling stuffed in our yeasted bread dough and served with our own house-made dipping sauce.

It will only be available while supplies last, so don’t delay.

Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and we’ll be open through midnight.

Bierock will still have its full food and drink menu the day of the event.

Located at 2911 N. Sherman Ave., Bierock is part of the Northside TownCenter and across the street from Warner Park.
