In honor of Juneteenth, Bierock is holding a 2nd annual fundraiser by selling a keg of Black Is Beautiful.
On Saturday June 19, Bierock will be tapping a keg of Black Is Beautiful Double Stout checking in at 8.1% ABV by local brewery Giant Jones.
All profits from sales of this keg will be donated to Madison’s own Urban Triage. Last year Bierock donated $100 to Urban Triage, and our event was recognized by Channel3000.
Urban Triage’s vision is “To empower and inspire breakthroughs and transformation by way of education and leadership in Black children, Black women, Black men, and Black communities.”
Goblet pours of this beer will be available for $6.50 while growler fills to-go are available for $25.
The benefits of this fundraiser are two-fold.
Giant Jones is donating 100% of its proceeds to Madison’s Freedom, Inc. According to Giant Jones, last year’s batch of Black of Beautiful was their fastest-selling batch to date.
Breweries across the nation are taking part in the Black Is Beautiful initiative, literally over 1,200 breweries in all 50 states and over 20 countries. Each brewery is encouraged to create their own spin on the recipe.
Black Is Beautiful is described as…
A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR THE INJUSTICES PEOPLE OF COLOR FACE DAILY AND RAISE FUNDS FOR POLICE BRUTALITY REFORM AND LEGAL DEFENSES FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN WRONGED.
At the time of publication, public health orders by Dane County have expired. Vaccinated persons do not have required masking or social distancing at Bierock. We have full indoor and outdoor seating available.
Bierock will have its full food and drink menu available the day of the event.
