Beer Bingo with New Glarus Brewing

On Wednesday January 15, Bierock is hosting Beer Bingo featuring Wisconsin’s own New Glarus Brewing.

Bingo begins at 6:30 p.m. and lasts roughly two hours.

It’s free to play. Customers will receive a bingo card, good for several rounds. Prizes include various beer-related giveaways, brewery SWAG, free pours and other esoteric awards like B-movie DVDs and erotic novels.

A representative from New Glarus will be on hand to hand out samples, answer questions and socialize during the event.

Featured on Jan. 15 will be at least six beers on tap, including a seasonal offering. But we’ll make sure to have something light, something hoppy, something malty and something fruity.

Here’s the lineup and brewery descriptions for what we know what will be on tap…

  • Moon Man, No Coast Pale Ale—You hold a session beer with a bright bold blend of five hops that flirt obligingly with the smooth malty backside. Don’t let this one lay around. It is brewed to be enjoyed today. Bold and engaging without pretense, because in Wisconsin you do not have to be extreme to be real, just be.
  • Cabin Fever, Bock—You hold a Wisconsin Style Honey Bock, easy going and more approachable than its traditional dark German cousin. Bock beers have existed in Wisconsin for over 150 years. This pale bock is brewed with an exclusive blend of Wisconsin two row barley that balances seamlessly with our special European hops. Naturally sweet Clover Honey was added in the kettle accenting warm flavor notes on your tongue.
  • Scream, Imperial IPA—Scream pierces reality, effortlessly slicing our sky, He flies over the Brewery just as Abe circled over Wisconsin’s 8th Infantry during the Civil War. He calls us to something bigger. Scream boasts an inspired 85 IBUs that reverberate cleanly though this IIPA. New Glarus Brewery grown estate hops join other Wisconsin grown hops to dominate this brew from Kettle Boil to Dry Hopping. You hold a deceptively seductive Original Gravity of 20.9 degrees Plato following the always 100% naturally bottle conditioned fermentation. Luscious Wisconsin grown and malted barley along with English Maris Otter malt is the bold heart of this lustful sensory enchantment.
  • Belgian Red, Fruit Beer —You hold the marriage of wine and beer. THis ale is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, balanced by hops we aged in our brewery one full year, and then aged in oak vats. Half a pound of of Door County Cherries in every every bottle makes this ale uniquely “Wisconsin”. So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this ale to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor & bouquet.
  • Pilsner, Pilsner—Quests of unobtainable perfection exist. Brewmaster Dan’s Holy Grail is the perfect pilsner. His ideal being an old school blur of German and Czech styles. Heirloom pilsner malted barley and a double decoction mash begin the maddeningly complex journey. Joined by Bavarian royalty Diamant, Mittelfrüh, Saphir, Select and Hallertau Blanc hops that gracefully weigh in a quaffable 35 IBU. The simplicity of a six week lager forges this pilsner treasure.
  • Two Women, Country Lager—Four thousand years before Christ, Sumerian women created the divine drink of beer. Viking women brewed in Norse society. European Ale Wives were so successful as cottage brewers they were taxed. Artisanal women lost their domination of the daily ritual of brewing during the Industrial Revolution. Today’s brewing trade is controlled by men. The collaboration of two Craft companies both led by women, New Glarus Brewing and Weyermann Malting, is unique. You hold the result “Two Women” a Classic Country Lager brewed with Weyermann’s floor malted Bohemian malt and Hallertau Mittelfrueh hops.
