At Bierock, we celebrate Fat Tuesday by honoring New Orleans, Louisiana and Mardi Gras traditions.
On February 21st, we feature a Cajun-inspired food menu, tap a keg of Abita beer, put a Sazerac cocktail on special and feature a playlist of New Orleans jazz over the house sound system.
It’s perhaps the best homage to Fat Tuesday in all of Madison.
FOOD SPECIALS
It starts with our weekly special as we unveil a different bierock every week on Tuesdays. And this particular week will be a Jambalaya bierock.
Stuffed with Andouille sausage, tender chicken, rice and the Holy Trinity of Cajun cooking: onion, bell pepper and celery.
It’s wrapped in our freshly-baked bread dough and complemented a house-made, Louisiana-inspired hot sauce.
Then our Soup of the Week will be Gumbo, a hearty, Bayou-inspired recipe and another debut for Bierock.
DRINK SPECIALS
On this date, Bierock will tap a keg of Abita Brewing Company’s Mardi Gras Bock with one-day-only special pricing.
Allow your jaw to drop with pints available at $4 each and only $3 during Happy Hour from 3 to 5 p.m.
Located in Abita Springs, Louisiana, just north of New Orleans, Abita Brewing is synonymous with the Mardi Gras celebration in the Crescent City. According to their official website…
Abita Mardi Gras Bock is brewed with pale, pilsner and caramel malts and German Perle hops. Our bock is similar to German maibocks with its rich malt flavor and full body. A perfect choice during Carnival season in New Orleans.
Also on Fat Tuesday, Bierock will have a New Orleans classic cocktail—the Sazerac—on special.
Bierock puts a Wisconsin twist on the drink by making it with Dancing Goat Limousin rye whiskey along with Absinthe and Angostura bitters and sugar. Savor this premium cocktail at $10.
A representative from Dancing Goat Distillery will be on hand to sample their product, answer questions and socialize during the event.
FAT TUESDAY IN MADISON
Finally, allow your evening to have a soundtrack featuring New Orleans jazz. Surround sound speakers will highlight legends like Kermit Ruffins, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dr. John and more.
Bierock’s full food and beer menu will still be available the night of the event.
Doors open at 3:00 p.m. Enjoy Fat Tuesday before temperance begins!
Bierock is located at 2911 N. Sherman Ave., part of the Northside TownCenter and across the street from Warner Park.
