Fat Tuesday in Madison: Abita, Sazeracs & Jazz

Celebrate Fat Tuesday in Madison at Bierock by honoring a trio of New Orleans and Louisiana traditions.

On Tuesday March 1st, we will tap a keg of Abita beer, put a Sazerac cocktail on special and feature a playlist of New Orleans jazz over the house sound system.

ABITA’S Mardi Gras Bock

On this date, Bierock will tap a keg of Abita Brewing Company’s Mardi Gras Bock with one-day-only special pricing.

Allow your jaw to drop with pints available at $4 each and only $3 during Happy Hour from 3 to 6 p.m.

Located in Abita Springs, Louisiana, just north of New Orleans, Abita Brewing is synonymous with the Mardi Gras celebration in the Crescent City. According to their official website…

Abita Mardi Gras Bock is brewed with pale, pilsner and caramel malts and German Perle hops. Our bock is similar to German maibocks with its rich malt flavor and full body. A perfect choice during Carnival season in New Orleans.

SAZERACS AND JAZZ

Also on Fat Tuesday, Bierock will have a New Orleans classic cocktail—the Sazerac—on special.

Bierock puts a Wisconsin twist on the drink by making it with Dancing Goat Limousin rye whiskey along with Absinthe and Angostura bitters and sugar. Savor this premium cocktail at $10.

A representative from Dancing Goat Distillery will be on hand to sample their product, answer questions and socialize during the event.

Finally, allow your evening to have a soundtrack featuring New Orleans jazz. Surround sound speakers will highlight legends like Kermit Ruffins, Dr. John and more.

FAT TUESDAY IN MADISON

Coincidentally, Fat Tuesday just so happens to fall on Public Domain Movie Night at Bierock.

Starting at 8:00 p.m., we’re screening the 1941 musical film Sunny, which takes place during Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

Bierock’s full food and beer menu will be available the night of the event.

Doors open at 3:00 p.m. Enjoy Fat Tuesday before temperance begins!

Bierock is located at 2911 N. Sherman Ave., part of the Northside TownCenter and across the street from Warner Park.
