St. Patrick’s Day: Irish-Inspired Beer, Corned Beef & Basketball

We hit the trifecta on St. Patrick’s Day at Bierock: Irish-Inspired Beer, Corned Beef & Basketball!

On Sunday March 17, 2911 N. Sherman Ave. will be the place to be for food, drinks and entertainment.

To start, that particular day will be the last date we offer our Reuben Bierock, which will be replaced on the menu.

Stuffed with corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese, it’s wrapped inside a freshly-baked dough.

As for drinks, we’ll be featuring a couple of Irish-inspired beers.

First up is Irish Blessing from Boulder Beer Company in Colorado. An oak-aged coffee stout, this beer is made “with an abundance of black and chocolate malts for a bittersweet chocolate finish.”

Next is local favorite McLovin, an Irish red ale by Vintage Brewing Company that was a bronze medal winner at the 2012 World Beer Cup and silver medal winner at the 2014 World Beer Cup.

We’ll also have Jameson Irish whiskey on special for both shots and mixers as well.

On the entertainment side, it’s time for March madness. The Big Ten men’s basketball tournament championship will be held on St. Patrick’s Day, starting at 2:30 p.m., which will be on the big screen at Bierock.

That will be followed by the annual Selection Sunday NCAA tournament reveal starting at 5:00 p.m.

See you on St. Patrick’s Day. Sláinte!
