Bierock Hosts Extra Life Event for Charity

Play games and drink beer to raise money. It’s a rough life, but someone’s gotta do it.

But in all seriousness, we’ll be doing exactly that at Bierock on Saturday Dec. 8 as we host an Extra Life event for charity.

From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. customers will engage in a mini-gaming marathon as we raise money, whether they’re board games, card games or even hand-held video games.

During that eight-hour window, Bierock will donate $1 for every full-sized tap beer to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

For this special event, we’ll be tapping a barrel of Stone Brewing’s w00tstout, a beer specially made in celebration of geekdom, previously released during w00tstock in California and coinciding with Comic Con.

Made in collaboration by Wil Wheaton, Drew Curtis and Greg Koch, this Russian Imperial Stout is brewed with pecans, wheat and rye and partially-aged in bourbon barrels, checking in at 11.5% ABV.

Customers are encouraged to bring games like Jenga, Settlers of Catan, Magic the Gathering, Connect Four, Balderdash, anything really.

Bierock will have on hand games like Apples to Apples, chess and backgammon boards and decks of cards.

The inspiration for hosting such an event came from our bartender, Bryan Born, who’s held previous Extra Life marathons and has raised in excess of $1,000 for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

We’ll see you Dec. 8. Game on!
