What’s a bierock?
In Nebraska, they’re called runzas. In Argentina, they’re called piroks. In Kansas and Oklahoma, it’s a bierock.
Whatever they’re called, they’re a mouth-watering pastry traditionally filled with beef, cabbage, onions and seasoning.
Bierocks were brought to America from Volga German immigrants from which, Amanda—our owner—can claim her heritage.
At Bierock Madison, we serve the traditional form but also offer modern interpretations inspired from other cultures as well.
Located on Superior Street in Madison, Wis., Bierock is your source for comfort food and craft beer.
