On Wednesday June 11, Bierock is hosting Beer Bingo featuring Madison’s own Young Blood Beer Co.
Bingo begins at 6:30 p.m. and lasts roughly two hours.
It’s free to play. Customers will receive a bingo card, good for several rounds. Prizes include various beer-related giveaways, brewery SWAG, free pours and other esoteric awards like B-movie DVDs and erotic novels.
A representative from Young Blood will be on hand to hand out samples, answer questions and socialize during the event.
Featured on June 11 will be at least six beers on tap, including a seasonal offering. But we’ll make sure to have something hoppy, something fruity, something light and something malty.
Here’s the lineup and brewery descriptions for what we know what will be on tap…
I’m Working on Manifesting, Dry Hopped Saison—Yeah, yeah, yeah, well it’s easy to be cynical. To say that it isn’t going to work takes like, no effort. You don’t know! I saw that Oprah does it and so does that guy from Coldplay. He’s not my favorite, but he seems like it’s all working out for him. He married Gwyneth Paltow before she turned all weird. And anyways, I really need this. Like, REALLY need it. Publishers Clearing House is a real thing so you can take that negativity somewhere else my dude. Bye!
Making Love at Midnight, Pina Colada-Style Sour w/ Pineapple, Tangerines & Coconut—Do you like getting caught in the rain? What are your thoughts on health food and champagne? Take a moment to ponder the Pina Colada song, while sipping this delectable little bevie. For this sour, we loaded our tanks up with hundreds of pounds of pineapple before adding tons of toasted coconut. Finally, we add milk sugar for body to balance everything out into a delightful take on this veritable tropical cocktail. For maximum enjoyment, sit back and turn up the Rupert Holmes.
Like Criss Angel… But Good?, Hazy IPA—No disrespect meant. Well maybe a little. Like, medium amounts of disrespect at most. Which coming from us is like barely any at all when you do the science on it. And speaking of science, wizards are superior in every single way to magicians because at the very least, instead of assistants, they have dragons and capes. I’m pretty sure that that Harry Potter kid saved the entire world and magicians can’t do that with rabbits or card tricks or whatever they’re into. Again, no disrespect.
Slice, Slice Baby!, Italian-Style Pale Ale–Collaboration with Mikerphone Brewing. Never heard of an Italian pale ale? Makes sense, cuz we just invented it… the concept started with access to a cool new hop called anchovy. Mike from Mikerphone is always down to party, and this beer is the ultimate party favor; pizza party or otherwise. Just to clarify, anchovy tastes like watermelon, not canned fish. We expanded upon the anchovy basis by brewing this beer exclusively with Italian grown pilsner malt. We chose citra lupomax as a companion hop to introduce a little yuzu/ peach to the watermelon party on this beer. This beer is fermented with west coast chico ale yeast for its clean and dry characteristics allowing the the hops and malt to really shine.
Something Obnoxious, Witbier w/ Key Limes, Oranges and Lemon Zest—Collaboration with 608 Brewing Company. Witbier fermented with kviek, dry hopped with Strata and cold steeped on Key Limes, Orange & Lemon zest.
Lighten Up Man, It’s the 90s, Dry Hopped Red Lager—Collaboration with Lakefront Brewing Company. Red Lager dry hopped with Cascade, Chinook & Centennial.
