German Beer Day: Special Tapping at Bierock

Bierock is host to a special tapping on German Beer Day, Tuesday April 23.

It only made sense to mark the occasion as a bar and restaurant with German roots.

We’re tapping a true Kölsch from Cologne, Germany. It’s kind of like a true Champagne coming only from one region in France. Same concept here.

When doors open at 3:00 p.m., we’re pouring from a keg of Reissdorf Kölsch in Cologne for the first time at Bierock. We always dedicate one tap line to a German beer, but this is the first time for Reissdorf.

By definition, a Kölsch is pale, hoppy, filtered, top-fermented and cold conditioned, and must be brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot.

And that’s exactly why we’re celebrating German Beer Day on Apr. 23, the anniversary of the Reinheitsgebot—or German purity law—that states beer is made with only three ingredients: water, barley and hops.

The Reinheitsgebot dates all the way back to 1516.

So join us to hoist a pint and pair it with a bierock. Prost!
